Snow in April?

Yep, Snow in mid-April in lovely Central, NY. Not just your everyday snow…a wet and heavy snow, the kind that drops trees and power lines with ease.
Jennifer gave me a brief scare while I was at work. She called to let me know that the tree in the front yard was down and was lying across a line. I say a brief scare because the tree in our front yard is small and the power lines are at the side of the house. She e-mailed a picture of the disaster to me. The snow was so heavy, it bent it over an old phone line.
The kids got away with one more snow day for the year, so they celebrated…until they remembered that they had to shovel the driveway.

Demolition at the Pyke's

The kid's spent a good part of the day doing some demolition work. A furnace fire made the house unlivable and they are now in the process of gutting the house so they can rebuild. The day was cold, yet they didn't seem to mind.

Sunday Morning

Linda is down in Florida with her Dad who recently had a stroke. The last word from Linda indicates that he is alert and improving. Her dad is 71 and stayed very active riding his bike. When we lived in Cleveland, I spent many a Saturday morning trying to keep up with him.

It's Sunday morning and every Sunday morning I make my final preparations for teaching Sunday School. I'm taking my camera with me and hope to take some pictures.

At this point, this Blog is an experiment. I thought it would be nice to have a place to let friends and family know whats going on here in New York.
