Shriends

While we were in Mexico, Linda's sister Tina watched our house with her son (our nephew) Joseph and our nephew Dillon. Dillon is three and he added a new word to our dictionary, shriends.

He's just three years old and gets a little creative with some of his words. Shriends is our favorite. We also liked how he said video games, bideo games. Ever since he left we have been using the word shriends.

"I like to play bideo games with my shriends."

They had a great time while they were here with their cousins. This weekend I put together a quick blog for Dylan and Joseph, you can visit it here.

The web address is www.Shriends.blogspot.com.

Heart Walk in Syracuse

This Saturday, me and Jennifer joined with a few others at the American Heart Association Heart Walk at Long Branch Park in Syracuse. The weather was perfect, clear skies and in the 80's. After the walk we headed out to the Subway and got home by about one o'clock. You can check out a few of the pictures on Flickr.

Los Cabos

Los Cabos Mexico

Back on April 5th Linda and I left for Los Cabos Mexico. We stayed at the Dreams Resort. It was sunny and 90° every day and in the evenings it cooled down to about 60°. Perfect weather! We spent our days at the beach and around the pool.

Each morning we got up at around sunrise and then headed off to a buffet breakfast. After breakfast we would head back to the room and get ready for a day at the beach (or the pool). The first part of the day we lounged in the sun and then grabbed some lunch. After lunch Linda would take a nap, and I would spend time in the pool. It was a good time to catch up with friends from several of our other locations (Columbus, Cleveland, Akron, Pittsburgh, Youngstown, Dayton, Albany, and Buffalo).

We headed into Los Cabos one evening to visit the Marina and do some sightseeing. Sammy Hagar is well known in the area and we walked through his nightclub, Cabo Wabo.

The day before we left, I had a chance to go out fishing for Marlin with Mike and Sandra Kraus, Ben and Lori Adams, and Roger Proper. We were on a boat called the Valerie which was owned by Pisces fishing. We saw dozens of Marlin throughout the day, yet we were only able to catch two (we released both of them). Our boat did better than most. Lots of Marlin, they just weren't biting. The Marlin were reeled in by Sandra and Roger. The Marlin that Roger caught was close to 9 feet long.
Lori reeled in a 2o pound Mahi-Mahi. We had the Mahi-Mahi filleted before we left the docks and had it cooked up once we got back to the hotel. They prepared it in three different ways, sashimi (raw), blackened, and grilled. I enjoyed the sashimi best. I think it's because the fish was so fresh. The one fish was enough to stuff all six of us.

It's great to be home. I have all the pictures up on Flickr if you want to check them out.
