Cannonball Problem

Last year I went on a Civil War vacation with my good friend Steve. Every time we passed an area that had been plowed or dug up, we couldn't resist at least looking for a relic from the battle that took place their. We never did find anything yet it was fun looking.

Mt. Marcy 2008

This summer Wes and I joined my friend Steve and his son James on a backpacking trip to Mt. Marcy in the Adirondacks.

Snow Dive

I was making a quick video of the snow piled up by the garage door at our Warehouse and one of the guys decided to do some snow diving. I was using my phone, so the quality is not so good.

Uggs

Last night Jennifer gave me a lesson in Uggs. Uggs are a sheepskin boot made in Australia. We started our shopping by visiting Debs to try on some boots that looked like Uggs but weren't. I called them Fuggs (Fake Uggs). They didn't have her size.

Our next stop was at Journey's to look at the real thing. Uggs are not cheap. The cheapest Uggs are around $110. Ouch. Unfortunately:) they didn't have Jenn's size.

Although we didn't find Uggs for Jenn, we did get some ice cream at Stone Cold Creamery. The mall was busy but we had a good time shopping. I was hoping to find a good deal for Uggs on the internet but the price is the same. Uggs are a well made boot but man they are expensive.

Does the economy have your attention? I think so. While it does, take some time to watch this video.

Facebook

Facebook has been out for quite a while. I started using Facebook about a year ago yet there were not many people on it that I knew. Well that has changed. There are lots of friends, family and church family on now. It's a great way to keep in touch with a variety of ways to communicate. It's been fun.

Today I worked in our Albany, NY office. Now I'm watching Secret Millionaire on Fox. It looks like a great show. I've got a busy day here in Albany tomorrow and then I 'll head back to Syracuse in the morning.

Go Facebook!

Fathers Day

The kids took me to Quaker Steak and Lube for lunch. The restaurant has a car/racing theme and just opened up here in Syracuse. We had a great time.

I've been to the original Quaker Steak and Lube in Sharon, PA. They have several locations in Ohio and PA.

Shriends

While we were in Mexico, Linda's sister Tina watched our house with her son (our nephew) Joseph and our nephew Dillon. Dillon is three and he added a new word to our dictionary, shriends.

He's just three years old and gets a little creative with some of his words. Shriends is our favorite. We also liked how he said video games, bideo games. Ever since he left we have been using the word shriends.

"I like to play bideo games with my shriends."

They had a great time while they were here with their cousins. This weekend I put together a quick blog for Dylan and Joseph, you can visit it here.

The web address is www.Shriends.blogspot.com.

Heart Walk in Syracuse

This Saturday, me and Jennifer joined with a few others at the American Heart Association Heart Walk at Long Branch Park in Syracuse. The weather was perfect, clear skies and in the 80's. After the walk we headed out to the Subway and got home by about one o'clock. You can check out a few of the pictures on Flickr.

Los Cabos

Los Cabos Mexico

Back on April 5th Linda and I left for Los Cabos Mexico. We stayed at the Dreams Resort. It was sunny and 90° every day and in the evenings it cooled down to about 60°. Perfect weather! We spent our days at the beach and around the pool.

Each morning we got up at around sunrise and then headed off to a buffet breakfast. After breakfast we would head back to the room and get ready for a day at the beach (or the pool). The first part of the day we lounged in the sun and then grabbed some lunch. After lunch Linda would take a nap, and I would spend time in the pool. It was a good time to catch up with friends from several of our other locations (Columbus, Cleveland, Akron, Pittsburgh, Youngstown, Dayton, Albany, and Buffalo).

We headed into Los Cabos one evening to visit the Marina and do some sightseeing. Sammy Hagar is well known in the area and we walked through his nightclub, Cabo Wabo.

The day before we left, I had a chance to go out fishing for Marlin with Mike and Sandra Kraus, Ben and Lori Adams, and Roger Proper. We were on a boat called the Valerie which was owned by Pisces fishing. We saw dozens of Marlin throughout the day, yet we were only able to catch two (we released both of them). Our boat did better than most. Lots of Marlin, they just weren't biting. The Marlin were reeled in by Sandra and Roger. The Marlin that Roger caught was close to 9 feet long.
Lori reeled in a 2o pound Mahi-Mahi. We had the Mahi-Mahi filleted before we left the docks and had it cooked up once we got back to the hotel. They prepared it in three different ways, sashimi (raw), blackened, and grilled. I enjoyed the sashimi best. I think it's because the fish was so fresh. The one fish was enough to stuff all six of us.

It's great to be home. I have all the pictures up on Flickr if you want to check them out.

Reforger 1985

Reforger was a training exercise that took place in Germany during most of the Cold War. I took part in Reforger in the winter of 1985 (January 19th - 31st).

In this picture, the sign on the front of the M113, "The Rock or Bust", refers to Ayers Kaserne in Kirch Gons, Germany, our home away from home. Best known as the rock. I was part of C Company 2nd 36th Infantry which was part of the 3rd Armored Division.

I've added a few other pictures at flickr.

Mexico in 12 Days

We are just 12 days from our trip to the Dreams resort in Mexico. Linda and I were in Mexico a few years ago. It was a fantastic vacation and we're looking forward to a relaxing week in Los Cabos. I'll spend most of my time relaxing with Linda, yet I do have one excursion planned.

Fishing in Cabos is spectacular and a fishing trip with several friends is already planned. I've fished for Croakers off the coast of Delaware, Haddock off the coast of New Hampshire and I look forward to catching some fish (maybe tuna) off the coast of New Mexico. The fishing is good this time of year and I hope to post some pictures to prove it.

Beat Boxer

Wesley (our resident beat boxer) will enjoy this video. This kid is pretty amazing.I don't think I'd want to use the mic after him though.

Happy Birthday Ricky

This is what happens when your birthday is close to St. Patrick's Day. You can always count on Ricky to ham it up with a good hat!

Molly Likes the Snow

Whenever there is snow on the ground, you can be sure that Molly will follow you around, hoping that you'll kick some snow her way. She does like being in the snow, yet in this video you might get the impression that she actually hates the snow. You decide.

We could always count on Renee to do back flips. The guy in this video has taken flips to the extreme!
